Role purpose
The Head of Operations will be responsible for leading the launch, establishment, and expansion of Mugg and Bean in Ghana, with a clear mandate to build a scalable platform for regional growth into neighbouring markets over time.

This is a senior leadership role requiring deep brand understanding, strong commercial capability, and proven experience within the Mugg and Bean system or an equivalent authorised environment.

Key responsibilities

1.Brand launch and development
• Lead the end to end launch of Mugg and Bean in Ghana, from pre opening through to stable operations
• Ensure full compliance with Mugg and Bean brand standards, operating procedures, and customer experience requirements
• Work closely with brand principals to ensure alignment during launch and expansion phases
• Develop and execute a phased growth and regional expansion plan, subject to board and brand approval

2. Operational leadership
• Build and lead a high performing management team across operations, finance, supply chain, and support functions
• Establish operating rhythms, reporting frameworks, and performance management systems
• Provide input into site selection, store development, and opening readiness
• Ensure food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance across all operations

3. Financial and commercial accountability
• Full P&L ownership, including revenue growth, cost management, margin optimisation, and EBITDA delivery
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and long range plans
• Track and report on key performance indicators and drive corrective actions
• Lead supplier strategy and cost negotiations in alignment with brand requirements

4. Stakeholder management
• Serve as the primary liaison between Masco Foods, brand principals, licensors, and key partners
• Work closely with group leadership, finance, HR, procurement, and development teams
• Represent the business at executive and board level

5. Travel and regional oversight
• Willingness to travel extensively within Ghana and across neighbouring markets as expansion progresses

Candidate requirements

Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or Master’s in Business is highly desirable to handle the P&L complexity of multiple units.

Mandatory experience and background
• Overall 12yrs expereince with proven senior leadership experience within the Mugg and Bean brand environment is essential
• Candidates must have obtained Mugg and Bean experience through authorised, non conflicted channels and must not be in breach of any contractual, ethical, or restraint obligations
• Strong understanding of the Mugg and Bean operating model, culture, and customer proposition
• Experience launching or scaling a casual dining or premium café brand

• Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and develop multi functional teams
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• High standards of integrity, accountability, and brand stewardship

Technical and functional skills
• Full P&L management experience at country or regional level
• Strong operational, analytical, and financial capability
• Experience operating in emerging or high growth markets is advantageous

• Comfortable operating in ambiguous or pre launch environments
• Hands on during launch phases with the ability to transition to strategic leadership

Location
• Based in Ghana, with regional travel required
